President Saddam Hussein’s gifts to the Palestinians martyrs families were allotted here Monday. Formations of the Arab Ba’ath socialist party and Arab liberation front held a celebration for a huge rally.

In a speech delivered by the Arab Ba’ath socialist party representative conveyed president Saddam Hussein’s greetings to the Palestinian people and martyrs families and confirmed Iraq’s principled stances of offering support for the Palestinians as they confront the Zionist aggression.

Meanwhile, martyrs families voiced appreciation of President Saddam Hussein’s gifts and called for supporting Iraq against the U.S threats.

Russia- Condemnation

Moscow, Oct. 1.

Russia condemned the aggression being launched by the US warplanes on Basra international Airport, considering it as an hurdle in front of reaching political solution and at a time the UN weapons inspectors poised to return to Baghdad.

In a statement issued here, Russian foreign ministry said that Russia insisted that the U.S-British Radio on Iraq did not only complicate the situation but also obstacle the attempts to reach a diplomatic solve for this situation.

Indian Society condemns American threats

New Delhi, August 5

The Indian-Arab Society called on the Indian Prime Minister and the leaders of Indian Parties to condemn American threats against Iraq.

The Society affirmed the necessity to issue statements condemning American impetuous threats. It referred to Iraq’s supportive stands towards India in the past and up to now.

Aziz meets Russian delegation

Baghdad, July 27

Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz met Russian Foreign Undersecretary Alexander Sultanov and the accompanying delegation.

The two sides discussed Iraq’s relation with the Security Council and the situation in the region.

Mr. Aziz affirmed Iraqis’ steadfastness in confronting American aggressive schemes. He appreciated Russia’s stand rejecting such schemes. He called for strengthening resistance with all available means against the US aggressive policy that threatens security and stability in the region and the world.

Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan separately met with Mr. Sultanov.

Mr. Ramadhan affirmed Iraq’s keenness on developing cooperation with Russia in all fields. “Friendship relations between Iraq and Russia are historical and strategic,” Mr. Ramadan said.

Mr. Sultanov stressed that his country work for activating relations with Iraq and promoting bilateral cooperation to serve the interests of both countries. He said that Russia works for continuing dialogue with Iraq to expand cooperation and strengthen friendship relations.

UN Start First Talk Rounds

Baghdad, Feb. 9

The first round of talks between Iraq’s headed by the advisor at the presidency office Amer As-Sadi and the UN’s delegation attended by head of unmovic Hans Blix and head of iaea Mohammed El-Baradie started at the foreign ministry headquarter.it is scheduled the two sides will hold second round of talks today morning to resume the discussion over the topics on their agenda.In press statement after the ending of the first round of the discussion, Mr. Blix stated that the talks were useful and genuine.

Cairo – largest city in the Arab world

Cairo, the capital of Egypt, is the largest city in the Arab World. It has the nickname “The City of a Thousand Minarets” due to its amount of Islamic architecture. 6.8 million people live in Cairo.

Even before Cairo was established in the tenth century, it was a center of the region’s political and cultural life. Cairo has the world’s second-oldest university, al-Azhar University.

Main point of touristic interest are propably the Great Pyramids of Giza, just outside the city, but in the city are many sights as well. The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities contains the most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities in the world with around 136,000 items.

Cairo’s bazaar dates back to 1382, when a big caravanserai was built there. A caravanserai was an important point for economic activity for any surrounding area. The orignal builldings are still there in narrow streets named Sikka Khan el-Khalili and Badestan.

Old Cairo contains the Coptic Museum, Babylon Fortress, the Ben Ezra Synagogue and Amr ibn al-’As Mosque. The Cairo Tower is a free-standing TV tower made of concrete. It is located in Zamalek district in the city centre.

Foreign Minister reception

Tehran, Sept. 30

President Muhammed Khatami of Iran received here Sunday President Saddam Hussein’s envoy, Dr. Naji Saberi , foreign minister.

During the audience, Dr. Sabri conveyed president Hussein’s greetings to Mr. Khatami and clarified Iraq’s stance regarding the US hostile intentions against it and some other states in the region and its decision of allowing the UN inspectors to return to the country and the necessities of solidarity among Arab and Islamic states in confrontation of these Zionist fabricated intentions against Arab and Moslems.

For his part, Mr. Khatami voiced his keenness on increasing bilateral relations between the two neighboring states and Iran rejection for any threats of aggression against Iraq.

The audience was attended by Iran’s Foreign minister, Kamal Kharazi and Iraq ambassadors of both states and delegation accompanying the minister.

President Saddam Hussein’s envoy arrives in Tehran

Tehran, Sept. 29

President Saddam Hussein ‘s envoy to Iran’s president Mohammed Khatami Iraq’s Foreign Minister Dr. Naji Sabri arrived here on Saturday’s night.

Dr. Sabri is due to convey a letter from President Hussein to his Iranian counterpart concerning the development of bilateral relations.

Military spokesman says the U.S and British warplanes commit new aggression on Iraqi civil areas

Baghdad, Sept. 26, INA

The U.S. and British warplanes violated Iraq’s airspace in a desperate bid to impair solid will of Iraqis and undermine Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

A spokesman for the air defense command told INA that on Tuesday the U.S and British warplanes violated Iraq’s airspace coming from their bases in Kuwait backed by AWACS inside the Saudi spaces.

He added that the enemy ravens carried out 51 sorties and flew over civil areas in Artawi, Al-Bassiya, Al-jiliba, Ishbicha, Al-Nasiriya, Al-Lassaf, Affak, Al-shatra, Kal’at Suker, Al-Imara, Al-Rumitha, Kal’at Saleh, Taktakana, Al-Kurna, Al-Shanafiya, Al-Hay, Al-Simawa, Al-Basra, Al-Rifa’ee, and Al-Salman.

‘’Iraq’s anti-aircraft units repulsed the enemy planes and forced them to retreat to their bases in Kuwait’’, he further added.

He added that the enemies’ warplanes launched on Wednesday another aggression on northern Iraq coming from their bases in Turkey and supported by an AWACS inside the Turkish spaces.

Aziz Meets Spanish Women Delegation

Baghdad, Feb. 5

Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz has met Tuesday Spanish women solidarity delegation currently visiting Iraq. Aziz hailed the Spanish delegation in their initiative to visit Iraq under the conditions. He said that Iraqi peoples have the readiness to fight the enemy and defence of its independent, freedom and dignity, referring that Iraqi women’s sufferings because of the unjust embargo imposed upon Iraq, stressing that they play an important role in constructing and defencing of Iraq.

For their part, the Spanish delegation expressed admiration for Iraqi steadfastness, clearing that they notice Iraqi women’s role in facing up aggression and embargo.Spanish delegation comprises 45 journalists, artists and activists in field of Spanish policy. The meeting attended by head of solidarity, friendship and peace organization, dr. Abdul Razaq Al-Hashimi.
